Welcome to The Building Camp Blog

This blog aims to help everyone build successful camps regardless of their location or skill level. Building Camp aims to educate everyone from first-time campers to the seasoned wilderness survival expert about camping in the great outdoors. The Building Camp Blog will present tips and tricks to enjoy the wilderness on a daily basis, the family weekend getaway, or to the extended stay in the woods.

The Building Camp Blog will provide information about camping tents, sleeping bags, camping cookware, family camping gear, things to do while camping, outdoor safety, campground etiquette, and much, much more.

I, Jason, have been camping ever since I was a small child. I have camped in all types of climates and all types of terrains. I’ve camped at state and national parks and private campgrounds alike. I have even gone wilderness camping where the only supplies I brought were a sleeping bag, hatchet, fishing pole and a multi-tool.

I consider myself lucky to be able to camp so often and in so many different places. I hope to share my experiences with others so they can enjoy the great outdoors as much as I do.

I encourage you to check back often, ask questions, leave your thoughts and stories so other outdoor enthusiasts and camping lovers can all benefit your experiences. We here at the Building Camp Blog would love to hear from you.

Take care and see you at the campground.

    Hey Jason,
This is a great site. Thanks for the comment the other day. I’d totally recommend a bike box for carrying gear in as it rides so well and can hold at least 100 lbs. We are avid long distance backpackers just starting out with our son and your site looks like a great place to get ideas on family camping. Thanks!
