Camping is not camping without a campfire.
One of the best things about camping is sitting around the campfire with friends and family. You might fancy roasting marshmallows, cooking a hot dog, making some hot chocolate, telling ghost stories, or maybe you simply like to become mesmerized by the dancing flames. Regardless, it’s not really camping unless you have a campfire.
Now, many people think that building a fire is pretty straight forward – get some wood, throw it on a pile and light it. Well, yes, that might work, but you’re going to spend a great deal of time trying to keep your pile of wood aflame…
Please Note: It’s good practice to always observe your surroundings prior to building a campfire. You should always remove debris (leaves, branches, grass, etc.) that’s close to your fire pit before you start to build your campfire. Also ensure that your fire pit is far enough from your tent, vehicles, and not under any low hanging branches.
If you want to have a successful campfire you need to have a few items.
